Research Interests

I am broadly interested in applied artificial intelligence, machine learning, and intelligent systems. My work spans time-series modeling, multimodal perception, human-in-the-loop learning, and distributed systems. I focus on designing and deploying real-world AI solutions that integrate diverse sensing modalities including cameras, depth sensors, infrared arrays, Wi-Fi, and mmWave radar for context-aware, intelligent decision-making. My research bridges the gap between foundational AI methods and their practical deployment in domains such as smart environments, robotics, health, and IoT.

Brief Bio

I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Virginia in December 2014, advised by Prof. John A. Stankovic. My doctoral work focused on real-time, intelligent systems, laying the foundation for my current research in AI-powered multimodal perception. During my graduate studies, I also worked at Google as a Software Engineering Intern on the AdSense backend infrastructure team in Mountain View, California in Fall 2010. Since then, I have led AI/ML research initiatives in both academic and industrial settings, with a focus on building scalable, sensor-driven intelligent systems that translate cutting-edge AI into real-world impact.
